go wild swimming
The River Teign is a short walk away. Relax in the cool waters, enjoy the wildlife and scenery and the iridescent turquoise of a kingfisher flashing by.
The salmon leaps, surely one of the best wild swimming spots in the South West, is an hour's walk up the river.
borrow bikes
Cycle up the track alongside the River Teign to chill out at the fantastically situated Fingle Bridge Inn with a pint and plate of cheesy chips.
If you need a bit more exercise, leave the bikes at the pub and carry on up the spectacular Teign Gorge to the National Trust's Castle Drogo for a cream tea.

Battle it out at snooker, table tennis or table football in the games room, a 5 minute stroll down the hill from the Caban
wander
around the lake and the 50 acres of private nature reserve that Fingle Caban is set in. Sit on one of the strategically placed benches and contemplate life, watch wildlife, sketch, read, whatever takes your fancy.
