What our guests say....

Stay here. Tranquillity, relaxing and a romantic setting. Cannot fault it even in the rain. Either enjoying the sunshine by the outside fire pit or cozying up by wood burner this place is perfect! Hosts are informative and left us to our own devices which was ideallic. We will be back! Hollie, Airbnb, September 2017.
A such beautiful experience to vicky's family caban. In a real peaceful countryside, really lovely for a couple. The caban is really nice and you can make your own barbecue with a wonderful sunset in front of you. One of the most best Airbnb we did! thank's so much ! Charlotte, Airbnb, June 2017

The cabin is a beautiful place to stay. Although we had Storm Brian trying to blow us away, we enjoyed every second of it. Views are amazing, cooking was easy and a relaxing weekend for 2 very tired teachers. Local area has lots to do, but the ping pong table in the barn was used to the extreme. Highly recommended! What a fantastic couple of nice nights. Vicki was a great host and easy to contact if needed, offering tips on what to do/where to go. The Caban was perfect for a scenic and secluded get away. Set in beautiful surroundings it acted as the perfect base from which to go exploring. We loved making use of the outside fire area for dinner and the log burner for the cooler evenings in the Caban. It was a great bonus to have use of the bikes with the Teign Valley on the doorstep with a great bike track. Fantastic swimming spots too. Fantastic stay overall and look forward to coming back! We have already recommended. Katie, Airbnb, July 2017
Wonderful secluded hideaway with superb views. Perfect really. James, Airbnb, August 2017
Had an amazing stay! Beautiful secluded spot. Everything that you could need had been thought of. Wish we could've stayed for longer and will definitely return. Christopher, Airbnb, July 2017.
The Caban itself blew us away, so well constructed and well thought out in the use of space. The kitchen area was easy to use with utensils pans etc all there for you and well sheltered! (We had a lot of rain) The composting toilet was in a cute little cabin of its own, well thought out and hygienic with a little mirror and window to watch the world. The log burner was a delight keeping the Caban cosy throughout the night. We loved the little finishes in the Caban and the feel of being out in the countryside. The walk to the shower room and fridge was short and pretty in itself, certainly not an issue. I would highly recommend especially if you're looking for a romantic cabin getaway! We had an amazing time at Fingle Caban. I've never stayed somewhere with such great views of beautiful valleys, sunsets with breathtaking colours and wildlife so close and abundant, but still have absolute privacy and not overlooked by anyone - it really is at the top of the hill! We borrowed the bikes they have for free to cycle up the valley and go swimming in the river, played pool and table football in the games room, had warming fires in the evening listening to the owls calling, after rowing around their private lake. Can't even list all the wildlife we saw - I didn't know it was still possible to find a place like this these days! The host and their family were so generous and friendly although very unintrusive so the Caban/hill was completely ours with no visitors. Alasdair who runs the woodworking courses on-site was one of the most welcoming and modest people I've met in a very long time - highly recommend his passion for local/Devon woods. This place is brilliant! If you are looking for piece and quiet then stay here, the fire pit and accommodation are really good, we enjoyed this place a lot and would like to stay again, the host is very nice as well. The only consecutive criticism I could possible give is add a plug socket and leave some coffee. But you do have a USB charger. I would Very much recommend a great experience. This is a lovely little Caban tucked away out of sight from civilisation - just what we were looking for! It feels like you're miles from anyone but really it's only a walk back down the track to the farmhouse. Vicki had left us a very tasty cake and some real local apple juice to go with it which was a nice touch. We had that in front of the log burner while feeling extremely pleased with life! Bearing in mind that we went in the middle of winter over New Year's weekend, I expected to feel the cold. The firepit was great to sit by while we cooked our food on it but the log burner was the real highlight. It kept the Caban cosy while we were battered by a crazy storm - and the huge windows meant we could turn the light off and watch the storm rolling in over the hills. It wasn't cold inside at all and was amazing to hear all the wildlife - our favourite was a very disgruntled owl being battered about by strong winds in his tree! It honestly is no lie that the Caban boasts the finest compost toilet - it's a short walk away from the Caban itself and has a cracking view which you get to enjoy as you can literally sit on the toilet with the door open! We loved this place and would love to return again. If you like self sufficient living and are happy to build fires and be surrounded by nature then definitely give this place a go!
