What our guests say....
The cabin is a beautiful place to stay. Although we had Storm Brian trying to blow us away, we enjoyed every second of it. Views are amazing, cooking was easy and a relaxing weekend for 2 very tired teachers. Local area has lots to do, but the ping pong table in the barn was used to the extreme. Highly recommended! This is a lovely little Caban tucked away out of sight from civilisation - just what we were looking for! It feels like you're miles from anyone but really it's only a walk back down the track to the farmhouse. Vicki had left us a very tasty cake and some real local apple juice to go with it which was a nice touch. We had that in front of the log burner while feeling extremely pleased with life! Bearing in mind that we went in the middle of winter over New Year's weekend, I expected to feel the cold. The firepit was great to sit by while we cooked our food on it but the log burner was the real highlight. It kept the Caban cosy while we were battered by a crazy storm - and the huge windows meant we could turn the light off and watch the storm rolling in over the hills. It wasn't cold inside at all and was amazing to hear all the wildlife - our favourite was a very disgruntled owl being battered about by strong winds in his tree! It honestly is no lie that the Caban boasts the finest compost toilet - it's a short walk away from the Caban itself and has a cracking view which you get to enjoy as you can literally sit on the toilet with the door open! We loved this place and would love to return again. If you like self sufficient living and are happy to build fires and be surrounded by nature then definitely give this place a go!
